About
New Sudan Generation (NSG) was founded in San Francisco in 2000 by Mr. Silvestro Akara Bakhiet, a native of Southern Sudan. Silvestro came to the United States as a refugee in search of a better future not only for his family, but for his fellow people of South Sudan.
Since 2000, Silvestro has testified before Congress on human rights abuses in Sudan, led peaceful demonstrations in support of Sudanese in need, and given dozens of speaking events at churches, universities, and organizations across the United States.
Today, with the help of the New Sudan Generation Board of Directors, Silvestro continues to better the lives of thousands of Sudanese.
The New Sudan Generation's Board of Directors is composed of leaders and visionaries from a variety of fields who are committed to rebuilding Southern Sudan. Our Board Members represent a broad spectrum of private and public sector organizations with expertise in business, healthcare, education and nonprofit activities.
